See the approach work through a decision
Fictional inputs illustrate the research process, from starting assumptions to a decision.
Starting assumptions. In a fictional observation window, the policy rate is unchanged, reserve balances decline, and an equity sector ETF makes a new price high. No later policy decision is known.
A price breakout supports a momentum observation, but unchanged rates and declining reserves do not by themselves confirm an easing regime. Compare the policy statement with the balance-sheet series available at that time. Keep later revisions out of the original decision.
What to check next. Treat the policy thesis as unresolved when the evidence conflicts. Record what would change that conclusion before watching the next release. A macro narrative is not a demonstrated trading edge.
Research criteria
- 1.Central bank liquidity and rate inflection signaling policy transition
- 2.Sector earnings revision breadth inflecting positive
- 3.Clean positioning: asset class under-owned by institutional consensus
Review criteria
- 1.Macro consensus catches up and trade becomes crowded
- 2.Technical invalidation of key structural breakout level
- 3.Central bank rhetoric reverses regime assumption
Research this in BrokerBridge
- Give Chat the policy statement and dated series values. Ask it to distinguish observations from a liquidity hypothesis, and say: "Do not place, approve, or change any order."
- Compare a price-only momentum explanation with the macro explanation. Use only information published before each historical decision, including costs in any strategy test.
- Use this lens for research. If a separate trade plan follows, review the instrument, destination and authority in the app rather than treating the macro report as permission.
An explicit buy, sell or close-now request in Chat can authorize action without another approval click. Live permission can remain valid for later requests in the same chat and destination. Use the research wording above and read the Chat permissions lesson before requesting a trade.
Method and source references
The sources explain the concepts used here. Template criteria and fictional examples do not establish an edge or reproduce a named investor’s complete process.
- Federal Reserve: Open Market Operations
Explains securities purchases and sales as monetary-policy tools. It supplies policy context, not a Druckenmiller trading rule or a forecast of asset returns.
Research, not order execution
Use this lens to study a company or market. It does not place orders or grant a strategy trading authority.
Asymmetric sizing with tight invalidation levels on initial position entries.
Known Failure Modes & Limitations
- Liquidity regime persists longer than macroeconomic models forecast
- Sudden geopolitical policy shifts invalidating multi-month thesis
